Unicorn cake
I ordered the cake plain from Safeway and then decorated it myself |
We celebrated Cecily's 4th birthday with a fairytale themed party at the Discovery Museum. They had crafts, facepainting, and playtime at the museum. It was a beautiful day and the Blue Angels soared overhead (as her bday always coincides with the airshow-brings me back to when I was in the hospital having her and the nurses kept going over to the window to watch the planes)
Cecily loves being 4 (albeit wary of any of the added responsibilities that comes with the age, i.e. "Now that you are 4, you need to pick up your toys, eat your vegetables, etc.).
She is still loving preschool-she is in the afternoon class this year and has adapted quite well to dropping her naps. The social aspect of school is in full swing, and she is very aware of who she likes to play with, what roll she plays in the group, etc. She likes to play with the boys as well!
We followed up the kids birthday with a family dinner at our house, lots of cooking, but so fun to entertain, I'd like to do that more often!
