11 months old

11 months old and full of spunk. Our little girl is moving forward at a fast pace. Its like she doesn't want to be a baby anymore! Makes me just the little bit sad to see this transformation, but mostly I just watch her in awe as she is turning into a little girl, her own person with her own thoughts and wishes.

She cruises along the furniture to get from here to there, and has taken some steps with her walker toy. She occasionally lets go of whatever she is holding onto for support and balances for a second before grabbing back on. She seems very proud of herself when she accomplishes new tasks.

She loves her books, especially "Walking through the Jungle" (although I left this book in the crib with her when I was trying to get her to take a nap and she ripped out some of the pages during a ferocious crying fit) She loves toys and will hold up her toy phone to her ear and babble. She seems to like alot of background noise and will press the little buttons on her toys to keep them making music or sounds. It can be a little maddening after awhile.

She is trying to communicate all the time, be it by pointing to something and making some talking-like noises or widly "signing". We've been using some signs such as "all-done" and "more" during meal times and she has caught on, though sometimes it is hard to tell which one she is doing. And she uses the sign for "all done" for anything she does not like, or does not want, and "more" when she wants something.

Getting her to eat is a new challenge. She still nurses though we are down to a morning feeding, evening, before bed, and occasionally one during the night. She sometimes will completely reject her daytime bottles. What she really wants nothing to do with is jarred baby food, or basically anything I would have to feed her with a spoon. (with the one exception of Yo-baby Yogurt that she loves so much she lets me get in a few spoonfuls) She wants to feed herself (and Luca). So we keep trying new things to add. Her definite favorite is cheese. String and cottage top the list. I went to Whole Foods and got all sorts of organic goodies including chicken nuggets and sweet potato wedges. Both were pretty much hits. I have also started making food cubes (using an ice cube tray) of vegetables and such. We will see how long that lasts.

Nighttime is getting better, but I dont really want to jinx it so we will just leave it at that.
